Background

In 2023, the international group AXA and PRD, a major player in logistics and tertiary real estate, called on Accenta to decarbonize a 18,000 m² temperature-controlled warehouse located in Saint-Quentin-Fallavier.

The objectives for this new building occupied by Rhenus Pharma meet the following challenges:

✅ Achieve a high level of environmental quality

✅ Drastically optimize energy costs without sacrificing thermal comfort

✅ Obtain BREEAM Excellent certification

Tailor-made solutions from Accenta

Compared to an aerothermal heat pump solution, Axa favors surface geothermal energy, which consists of drawing on the natural heat available in the basements to meet the heating and air conditioning needs of the building.

The project provides for the installation of the following elements:

✅ A 5,800 m field of geothermal probes (39 probes 125 m deep)

✅ 2 geothermal heat pumps

✅ 1 aerothermal heat pump

✅ A class A BMS compliant with the BACS decree

Customer benefits

Geothermal energy, clean and unlimited, brings financial, regulatory and climatic advantages:

✅ A significant reduction in energy consumption (-72%), energy bill (-56%) and CO2 emissions (-92%) without loss of comfort

✅ Compliance with the BACS decree

✅ Compliance with the tertiary decree 2040

✅ The BREEAM Excellent building label

✅ An increase in the real estate value of the site

✅ An eco-responsible image that can be used in the CSR communication of Axa and Rhenus Pharma

✅ The La Française favorite prize obtained at SIMI 2024

Fossil fuel costs, climate, regulations, it's all heating up!
